Tank Accessories

Hermit crabs love to have a decorated, vibrant environment. Keeping the scenery fun will keep the crabs happy, and will encourage them to play and explore within their space. There are some key tips to read into in the coming sections, this information is vital.

HERMIT CRAB TENDENCIES: Hermit crabs love to eat moss, so avoid moss toys, moss hideaways, and moss pits if you can. The crustaceans also love to eat metal, and all costs… AVOID THIS! The metal can be very harmful to these animals, and they have a sensitivity to practically every type, so avoid these! They also tend to eat paint, this is also a no-brainer; paint has toxic abilities if consumed which can lead to the pet’s illness.

RECOMMENDATIONS: Keep it fresh, keep it fun. Hermit crabs love climbing, so netting and branches are a staple in a happy tank. They love to hide as well, so huts made from coconut shells are perfect and they are safe and have a nice astetchic to them!

IT’S ESSENTIAL: Decorating the tank is really a necessity for the crabs; it keeps them happy, intrigued, and adventurous. They would be flat-out bored if all they had was sand, water, and food. They need the little things, plus you get to customize it how you want!
